A VERRRY very slight film that was too slim to really have any bad parts but too light and dainty to really impress me. Another phenomenal performance from Sir Ben Kingsley, as well as Phillip Baker Hall, Luke Wilson and most of the rest of the cast.
There just wasn’t enough meat to the script (the concept–a killer who has to go to AA to clean up his drinking problem–could’ve been amazing, but wasn’t) and the directing was fine but bordering on amateurish.
It’s only slightly beyond a “watch it on cable” film, and that’s due to Ben Kingsley’s performance. But save that, You Kill Me struggles to justify its existence.
