Will Smith + Randall Wallace aka the guy who wrote Braveheart = a winning combination. According to Variety, "Smith, who has long wanted to play the pharaoh, brought Wallace the Taharqa story." The Last Pharoah will focus on his battles with Assyrian leader Esarhaddon starting in 677 B.C.
Will Smith is a fine actor, a bit egotistical but a good actor never-the-less. However, Will Smith in a period piece? I must admit, I'm definitely intrigued by the notion. I just hope he doesn't yell "I have GOT to get me one of these!" when referring to the elephant-powered Seiging Ram.
