News > WGA and AMPTP Resume Talks

Written by David Morgan

While cries of "The strike is over! The strike is over!" may still be some time away, at least the two sides of the debate are talking again. According to Variety, representatives from the Writers Guild of America sat down with reps from the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers Monday morning at 10AM in an "undisclosed Los Angeles hotel." Neither side issued any comments.

Optimists are calling this a step forward, as at least negotiations can proceed. Some pessimists believe this is merely a PR move, a reaction to the widespread firings of crew members. Monday was the first day of what is expected to be a three-day summit. We'll keep you posted as this story develops.
