News > Warner Bros. gets rights to Frank Miller's "Ronin"

Via Variety:

Well here's the no brainer of the century. The same studio that spun Frank Miller's "300" graphic novel to Box Office gold grabbed the rights to another of his graphic novels, "Ronin." Sylvain White, who directed the dancing flick "Stomp the Yard," will helm.

The graphic novel surrounds a ronin warrior from 13th centruy Japan who gets sent into a futuristic New York. The story is actually better than "300," though Miller's art wasn't as stylized or polished as it was in the Spartan epic, so this could be a damn good film…especially with Miller on board as an executive producer. Word is the same green-screen laden effects used in "300" will be employed. Innnteresting.
