Editorials > Voice-over King Don LaFontaine Dies
At 68 years young, the master of voice-overs, and perhaps one of the most recognizable voices in the entertainment industry has died. Donald LaFontaine was responsible for recording nearly 5,000 movie trailers and almost 350,000 forms of audio media, from commercials to programs to animated characters. He spent the last 25 years as the voice of NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, UPN, TNT, TBS, and Cartoon Network. He has also been the voice for hundreds of thousands of television and radio spots for huge corporate sponsors such as Chevrolet, Pontiac, McDonalds, Coke, Budweiser and Ford. He is known as perhaps the single busiest actor in the history of the Screen Actor's Guild. He will undoubtedly be missed.
