I love Viggo Mortensen. There I said it. He just happens to be one of those actors, like Gary Oldman, who can do no wrong. So hearing that Cormac McCarthy's adaptation starring Viggo might be pushed back to 2009 is definitely dissapointing. According to THR:
Execs are scheduled to meet with "Road's" producers Thursday to discuss whether the movie will bow this year; the discussions come as Harvey Weinstein has pushed ahead with Stephen Daldry's "The Reader" for a Dec. 10 opening.
After reading what The Reader is about, I have to admit I would much rather have The Road bow in December. I really hope Director John Hillcoat can finish the cut before the end of the year.
