News > Tyrese to Play B.A. Baracus in "The A-Team"

Director John Singleton may be looking to his frequent star (is there a term yet for a male muse?) Tyrese Gibson to play Sergeant B.A. Baracus in the upcoming big screen adaptation of "The A-Team." CHUD's Devin Faraci has the scoop on this one. He talked with the singer/actor about the role and how he plans to interpret the larger-than-life character created by Mr. T twenty-five years ago.

Reportedly, Tyrese is planning "to bring BA into the 21st century, so don't expect a ton of bling around his neck." Heresy, you say! At least Tyrese is still considering the iconic mohawk and respects the role enough to hit the gym. In his words (as interpreted by CHUD) "the physique of the original is a lot to live up to." You're damn right!

The screenplay is still being worked on, so neither the film itself nor Tyrese's casting is a lock, but the tide seems to be going that way. My only question is what happened to Ice Cube? Cube said with certainty that he would "do the mohawk" and that he liked this film enough to "put it on [his] resume." How can Tyrese compete with that?
