News > Travis' "Endgame" is Underway

Pete Travis' "Vantage Point" didn't go over well with the critics this winter, but that didn't stop it from grossing over $75 million domestically, certainly decent enough business to warrant a second chance. This time he's filming a period thriller about the fall of apartheid in South Africa.

So far Travis has a tremendous cast that includes the likes of William Hurt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jonny Lee Miller, Mark Strong, Derek Jacobi, and Timothy West. Ejiofor will play current South African President Thabo Mbeki, but the rest of the roles are still mysteries. Seasoned British writer Paula Milne penned the screenplay.

In The Hollywood Reporter's words, "'Endgame' details the story of the clandestine and high-risk talks that took place between key Afrikaners and African National Congress exiles, which brought about the end of apartheid and the release of Nelson Mandela."
