Like being kicked in the shin by a child with an over-sized lollipop, Variety confirms a remake of The Brood to be very real.

Acquired by Spyglass Entertainment and penned by Cory Goodman, who wrote the upcoming Kung Fu adaptation,has hid updating of the 1979 horror film where a woman physically manifests her rage against those around her. No director is currently attached.

Also in the article is a vague reference to a Scanners remake being helmed by Saw 2-4 director Darren Lynn Bousman over at Dimension.
