Comedic actor and Saturday Night Live alumnus Tim Meadows will play Sheriff Doug Armstrong in adventure comedy They Came from Upstairs, a new vehicle for High School Musical co-star Ashley Tisdale. According to THR, the film "revolves around a group of teens who team up to defend their Maine vacation home from an alien invasion upstairs." Gillian Vigman has also joined the cast as Tisdale's character's mother, Nina Pearson (Step Brothers). John Schultz will direct, Barry Josephson is producing.

Meadows recently stole some scenes in the mostly-ignored but mostly-funny Apatow production Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.
