Just in case you couldn't get enough of the first Stigmata flick almost a decade ago (and if this is the case, you probably haven't seen a little film called The Exorcist), you'll be happy to know that MGM is planning a sequel. No writers yet, no planned script (though one would assume that the plot revolves around someone getting possessed by the devil and showing – you guessed it – stigmata wounds) , but MGM is nonetheless considering a sequel.

All things considered, it'll almost definitely join the likes of Hollow Man 2 in the Straight-To-DVD Sequels of Movies That Sucked Hard Enough To Never Warrant a Sequel In the First Place Hall of Fame.

I just lost respect for your opinion, as Stigmata was pretty awesome, had a great cast, great premise, etc. The only issues I found were the low budget (or lack of attention to detail) that was obvious in some scenes.

I do agree the sequel will likely suck, as it likely will not have Patricia Arquette or Gabriel Byrne, but the original rocked.
