Man King Of Kong is great. It’s so badass. I mean it. This is a five star movie. For real. I have seen lots of movies and this one is easy in the top ten. It was rad. I had a great time watching my bootleg download DVD of it.

My wifes got a friend who books movies for our local movie theater chain and he told her that there weren’t enough actual copies of the film to get the movie here in Santa Rosa. It wasn’t playing anywhere. I had to get it so, illegally it was. Sorry. I hope that my online support helps King Of Kong in someway. Prolly not though.

Here’s the deal. This guy Billy Mitchell, this awesome guy Billy Mitchell is the king of Donkey Kong. He’s the king of a bunch of other games as well but the focus of the film is D.K. He’s the heel and an awesome one at that. The best that I’ve seen in years. He’s the best and he knows it. What sucks the most about him besides his awful personality is the fact that he actually is best. It’s undeniable. Billy Mitchell pounds ass at video games.

On the other side is . He’s a loser, a constant second place finisher. A nice guy true, but still not the dude who takes it home in the end. So, Steve is recently downsized and for a lack of self esteem takes to Donkey Kong. He hopes to break the record.

It’s an all encompassing task. He’s the type of dude who once set upon something doesn’t think about anything else. He’s very focused and detail oriented. Kind of a nerd. Well, all these dudes are nerds. That’s what makes it so cool. The people. The fact that they are real people not actors makes it all the better. This is all real and totally unbelievable at the same time.

I don’t want to give too much away but lots of really neat things happen. The characters get over and when it’s over you understand everything that happened. It’s straight forward, honest and awesome. I can’t recommend it high enough..
