Jon Tenney (The Closer) and Amber Heard (The Pineapple Express) have joined the cast of the remake of The Stepfather directed by Nelson McCormick. According to The Hollywood Reporter,
Tenney will play a father trying to reconnect and protect his teenage son, played by Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl). Heard plays Badgley's girlfriend.
Sela Ward is already on board as Tenney's ex-wife, whose soon-to-be husband (Dylan Walsh of Nip/Tuck) might have murdered his previous family.
J.S. Cardone wrote the screenplay. He also collaborated with McCormick on the remake to Prom Night, which opens April 11th.
