Warner Bros. is negotiating with Stephen Sommers to bring Tarzan back to the big screen. The script is being developed by Sommers in conjunction with Stuart Beattie, and will be produced by Jerry Weintraub.
Sommers recently directed the anticipated 2009 release G.I.Joe.
The Edgar Rice Burroughs' created character has been around since 1912, with the most recent film versions being the 1984 Christopher Lambert starred Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, 1998's Tarzan and the Lost City starring Casper Van Dien, and 2003's WB series Tarzan.
No release date has been set for this project.
