Spike Lee announced at Cannes this week that he has plans to make a feature-length documentary about modern basketball great Michael Jordan. The NBA will finance the film, with Lee's 40 Acres & a Mule Filmworks producing. Lee said he hopes to have the doc done in time for Cannes 2009. He told Variety, "Mike wants to come to Cannes, so hopefully we will be here next year." Something tells me if Michael Jordan wanted to go to Cannes, they'd probably let him in. Unless he's still mad about "Space Jam" getting snubbed for the Palme d'Or back in '96. Damn that Mike Leigh!
