News > Russell Crowe Will Play Sheriff and Robin Hood

According to MTV Movies Blog:

"He's playing both!" (he said) exclusively to MTV News during an interview for his new film "Body of Lies," which co-stars Crowe. While Scott held additional details close to his chest — saying they would take too long to describe — he did exclaim that Crowe's dual roles would be "a good old clever adjustment of characters. One becomes the other. It changes."

What exactly does that mean? Your guess is as good as our's. We are intrigued by Sir Ridley Scott's intentions though.

I think i remember reading that the whole point of the nottingham movie was to humanize the character of the sheriff, showing him to be a good man manipulated by the corrupt powers that surround him. Maybe Scott intends to adjust so that the Robin Hood's identity is a cover for a guilt ridden Sheriff, an interesting idea. Or maybe hes just going to alter the look for both characters and have Crowe play both, which is still a pretty interesting idea if its shot right. Either way, this has piqued my interest.

Russell Crowe's got the accent for Robin Hood (or the sheriff)... though he'll probably have to get a bit slimmer than what his recent role in Body of Lies
