News > Routh to Play Dylan Dog in Dead of Night

Written by David Morgan

Brandon Routh has reportedly been cast in the lead role of Dylan Dog in David R. Ellis's Dead of Night. The original horror comic series was called Dylan Dog and was created by Tiziano Sclavi and first published in Italy by Sergio Bonelli Editore. Director Ellis is best known for directing Cellular, Final Destination 2, and Snakes on a Plane. The screenplay has been written by Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly. The film has a meager budget of $35 million and principal photography should be starting soon in Connecticut.

Dylan Dog must feel like something of a step down for Routh after having played the most famous superhero in the world in a film with nine times this one's budget. But, eh, it's a living. He's probably a little relieved not to have so much pressure on him this time.
