An interesting come-back pops up today at Hollywood Elsewhere concerning rumors of Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez' Barbarella remake. You may remember back when we looked at a piece in the New York Observer that claimed Universal didn't believe in her acting or presence. McGowan gave a "cottonball interview" (read: that's Journalism speak for an interview so soft and pandering that you may as well get your answers from a pre-published statement) to Ohnotheydidnt that has since been taken down.

The choice excerpt being:
Q: Robert Rodriguez said you are perfect for the role of Barbarella. What attracts you to this character? Did you enjoy the original movie?
A: I can't answer that question just yet. :)) I can say that anything negative that has been written about me doing this film is utterly and completely untrue. I suppose i should've wasted more of my time trying to decipher the ramblings of a drunken, slurring writer. It seems that since i didn't give enough time to this drunk, he took out his bitterness by writing lies. One of the biggest downsides of my business is that when people have the forum to write lies, I don't have a forum to fight back. I'll be honest, that stuff does upset me and hurt my feelings.
So maybe all those nasty rumors aren't necessarily true and all the fault of a drunk Spencer Morgan–I mean, notoriously drunk New York Gossip writer. Whoops. Our bad. Morgan isn't named outright, but considering the piece he ran that began these rumors, it does seem similar to him. Which of course can mean nothing. Or everything. Or not not everything! Our heads are spinning.

note: "Intverveiw" is not a typo on our part. It is the original title of the piece that was taken down from Ohnoyoudidn't.
