The word from MTV is that Rosario Dawson has joined the cast of D.J. Caruso's Eagle-Eye, choosing to do this project over Kevin Smith's Zack and Miri Make a Porno, which was written specifically for her. She said the following about Zack and Miri in an interview with MTV, "It’s going to be a really interesting film. I don’t think I’m going to be a part of it. He wrote it for me, but I’m just signing on to do Eagle Eye and that’s going to be shooting from November to March." Ouch. I wouldn't put it past Kevin Smith to postpone his plans a bit to wait for her, but it's also not impossible he'll pick some other actress. After all, this might just be her way of saying "thanks but no thanks."

As for Eagle Eye, MTV says that it will be a thriller about terrorists that was originally conceived by Steven Spielberg. The film will also star Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan as people framed as terrorists and forced to join an organization with plans to assassinate a political figure. On Dawnson's character: "She will be named Zoey." That says it all.
