Editorials > Rob Zombie to Remake C.H.U.D.

Rocker-turned-actor Rob Zombie has his sights set on another horror remake, albeit one less well-known or respected. Zombie has signed on to direct the remake of C.H.U.D., which stands for Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers. The original was released in 1984 and starred Home Alone co-stars John Heard and Daniel Stern. If you haven't figured out most of the plot from the title already, the film featured deformed sewer dwellers killing the unsuspecting inhabitants of New York City.

In any case, confirmation comes courtesy of DreadCentral, who claim to have heard straight from the Zombie's mouth. You can tell because after they got this call, they started calling him Rob.

Halloween may have been panned by critics and horror fans alike, but at least in remaking C.H.U.D. the expectations are considerably lower.
