Konami had announced quite awhile back that there was going to be a Metal Gear Solid film. From what I remember they're still looking for a script. I believe the voice actor for Solid Snake in the game David Hayter had wrote his own script for the film but Sony pretty said "NO"...

I'm not surprised NGE has had quite a big following for ages. I remember reading something about the WETA Workshop getting more emails about Evangelion than they were for LOTR.

I'm looking forward to seeing the first part of Rebuild of Evangelion!
