On Why the Bourne Series is the Best American Film Trilogy Ever Made at 08/11/2007 00:29am
To be honest, what makes Bourne one of the best is also that it's not entirely American. The first two were shot in Europe - which provides for quite a rich cultural backdrop. That stuff shot in Russia was fantastic - and it was directed by a Brit. If you look at the cast, the majority of the leads appear not to actually be American.
It's not disimilar to the Mr Ripley movies - what makes them great is that they're international collaborations.
