This looks like a VERY tame version of the original, but the last line made me cackle quite a bit. I will watch this this when it comes out on video, but if it is anything like the original (which really disturbed me) that is all.

I am surprised that it took the academy this long to allow film ads during the telecast. The Oscars have always seemed like Hollywood's excuse to congratulate themselves for a job well done, even if it was a particularly weak year movie-wise.

If there is anyone who can f**k up the script, it's David Goyer. Let's not forget, he wrote the screenplay for: Jumper, Blade:Trinity, The Crow: City of Angels, and last but not least Kickboxer 2.

However, he did write the screenplay for Batman Begins, and Dark City so he is not all bad, just mostly

I wonder if this film will have a happy ending, where everything turns out okay after a couple of days of terrible stuff happening, i.e. millions of people die (but a dog just makes it at the last moment), large building topple and/or explodes, etc. and everyone celebrates. Roland Emmerich makes very predictable movies with large expensive sets and special effects, but little imagination.
