You guys are frightening. Transformers was a cartoon to push toys. Or maybe the toys were made to push the cartoon. Doesn't really matter. It was a poorly animated cartoon and if you hadn't been a child when you watched it, you would never have liked it at all. Because, of course, only a child would become engaged in something that simple and utterly meaningless.

I'm not crapping on you because you liked Transformers as a kid, there is a ton of stuff I liked as a kid that I now realize is complete garbage. Your nostalgia is blinding you to common sense.

You expected Hollywood to take a crappy, cheesy 80s cartoon and produce what exactly? A serious, adult drama? An Oscar nominee? World-changing political commentary?

They took a crappy, cheesy 80s cartoon and produced a crappy, cheesy 00s movie. What else did you possibly expect?
