On Vin Diesel is still alive; another Fast and Furious at 08/23/2008 07:23am
Diesel has about as much talent as a carton of week old milk, but he does do well in action movies where all that is expected of him is to bungle some terrible one-liners. Incidentally, that is why he worked in the first movie. It was a plotless shitfest of car-chase scenes and bad acting.
Which makes me wonder, are we talking about the fad of car-based action movies, or the fad of poor acting in terrible movies? Because as long as people think NASCAR is a sport the first isn't going anywhere and as long people enjoy professional wrestling-esque entertainment then the latter isn't going anywhere either.
On Universal to make Wheel of Time movies at 08/14/2008 7:49pm
I think the movies could work, the problem is it would require two to three movies per book to cover the bare minimum of the vital plots.
On MTV Causes a Stink with Pot Joke at 06/05/2008 6:45pm
I might be a little biased because I think Rogen is one of the more overrated "actors" around right now, but this was pretty freaking lame. I think it was a stupid idea for a skit and it was poorly written and executed.
On The Weinsteins to Turn "Fraggle Rock" into a Feature at 05/13/2008 6:18pm
Thank God for people like the Weinstein's it would be a shame if any wholesome 80s TV show or movie remained unadapted. I mean after you sell your soul you have to find every venue possible to squeeze money from. And heaven forbid someone would have to come up with a new idea!!
On Animated Star Wars Goes 3-D This Summer at 02/13/2008 09:06am
So is this going to be the exact same story they already told in the Genndy Tartakovsky "Star Wars: Clone Wars?" Because that was amazing and it seems redundant to simply tell it all again.
Although it will make Lucas more money, which is the only reason he's doing it.
On Sean Astin Calls Goonies Sequel "An Absolute Certainty" at 10/08/2007 3:02pm
Yes. Hollywood has gotten fat by strangling dreams and crushing good actors and movies with its fat money grubbing hands.
