News > Polanski Casts Cage, Brosnan, and Swinton in "The Ghost"

Director Roman Polanski (recently in the news quite a bit due to Marina Zenovich's fascinating documentary) has attracted the acting talents of Pierce Brosnan, Nicolas Cage, and recent Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton for his adaptation of Robert Harris' "The Ghost." Variety describes the title as a political thriller starring Cage as "a ghostwriter hired abruptly to finish the memoirs of an ex-British prime minister after the first scribe turned up dead. The ghostwriter's research leads him to uncover skeletons in the pol's closet that put the writer's life in danger."

Brosnan will play the former prime minister and Swinton will play his wife. Naturally, the marriage is in trouble and she falls for the writer.

Polanski worked on the screenplay with Harris (author of "The Silence of the Lambs"). Robert Benmussa and Alain Sarde are producing. Production begins this summer in Europe.
