Academy Award winning makeup artist Rick Baker (Star Wars, American Werewolf in London) has been hard at work on the task of making a believable werewolf out of Benicio Del Toro, and now there are pictures to prove it. EW got two exclusive photos as well as an interview with the man who made it happen.
The interview is actually a pretty good read if you have the time. Baker takes a few seconds to brag about making Eddie Murphy look like an old Chinese man in Norbit. He also says that it's hard to make Del Toro look more lupine as he already has some wolf-like features, which on some level I understand and yet I can't place why. It's not like he has an elongated snout and paws. I suppose it's got to be all the silver and black hair on his head. Anyway, without further ado, here are the two pictures:
Baker is clearly going for a similar effect to the original Lon Chaney, Jr. makeup as opposed to the more modern look he employed in An American Werewolf in London. Any opinions?
