Via Hollywood Reporter:
Apparently, Shrek, the animated star of the "Shrek" films, is being used in an anti-obesity campaign. Now the obvious problem with that is that he's super fat. But an advocacy group, The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, says the "Shrek" films have too many product placements with junk food companies, throwing off any non-fat message Shrek could give and because of this want Shrek stripped from the anti-obesilty ads.
Couple things. First off, like I said previously, they should want to ditch Shrek because he's fat. He's fat, ugly and green…how could any kid aspire to be just like him? Second off, if you go to the website for The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, you'll see they're off their rockers. They're protesting bus drivers who listen to the radio while driving kids. I guess you'd prefer your kids commercial-free and beaten to a pulp by their aggravated bus driver? If you're going to have an effective protest, you can't be a nut. That is the new rule. This message was brought to you by Bill Maher, The Hollywood Reporter and Coke…because I love a tall glass of Coke, the original anti-obesity medicine.
