David Goyer's new supernatural thriller may not have a title, but it has the inimitably talented Gary Oldman, the indisputably beautiful Odette Yustman, and the undeniably "from The OC," Cam Gigandet. According to THR,
The script, which Goyer wrote, follows a 19-year-old girl who is haunted by a dybbuk, the soul of a dead person barred from heaven, in the form of a young boy who perished in Auschwitz.
Yustman will play the girl, while Gigandet will play her sympathetic boyfriend. Oldman is the spiritual specialist who helps the girl.
It's odd to see Oldman venturing into more "helpful older man" roles like Sirius Black and Jim Gordon, as opposed to his earlier crazy days as Stansfield, Zorg, and Drexyl. Also, I wonder what they're trying to say by suggesting that a young boy who died at Auschwitz can't go to heaven, and instead will haunt the innocent living.
Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are producing. Production begins March 3rd in Chicago.
