News > No Justice After All?

Written by Lucas C Haberstich

Production delays, a cast the studio execs aren't pleased with, a subpar script that can't be doctored due to the strike, and an ever-inflating budget all have Warner Bros leaning towards scrapping the superhero team project, IESB reports.  And in a world where the Hollywood machine strip-mines and fast-tracks any and all recognizable comic book properties, hoping for a big box office draw while leaving out all the best parts, I feel it might be for the best if this Justice League flick currently in pre-production just… didn't happen.  As big of a geek-thrill it would be to see Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the Flash up on the screen together in all their colorful glory, slapping the holy heck out of the film's rumored Big Bad, Jay Baruchel (…what?), it just feels like this project's been doomed to failure.  I'm certainly not against a Justice League movie being made, quite the opposite, but I am against this particular one moving ahead just so WB can pocket our sadness.  If that makes me a super-villain, I'll bitch-slap Jay Baruchel.

I think you're right about this. I much prefer the way Marvel's going about it (assuming the rumors are true) of a slight crossover between Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, leaving open a possibility of an Avengers movie much later down the line after Captain America, Thor and maybe Ant-Man are released. They're testing the waters, seeing if they'll get a good reaction from it or not.

a film like this isn't a good idea, there is to much to cram into one movie, who will get most screen time? costume desgin character conflict, a film like justice league would need maybe a 3 part film kinda like how they did the matrix, each character has his or her own plot and or story that intertwin and in the final film it all comes together.

im not as enthused about this film has i have been about the previous batman and marvel films

The thing about doing a justice league flick though, is that it is assumed that everyone watching is already familiar with the heroes/powers, and their origins. So all you really need is a solid story, and no Solomon Grundy. By the way, has anyone figured out why they decided to make antman into a movie?? I mean, it's friggin Antman, who cares??
