Wes Anderson told MTV recently that his "team" for animated feature The Fantastic Mr. Fox will include Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman. No surprise there. George Clooney and Cate Blanchett had been previously announced as Mr. and Mrs. Fox respectively. The film is based on a Roald Dahl story about a family of foxes trying to elude three mean farmers.
It may be some time until we see the finished product, as the actors are just about to begin recording and the animation will turn the film into a lengthy productions. "It will take a couple years to do the animating," says Anderson. "It’s stop-motion. It’s like Nightmare Before Christmas or those Christmas specials. These [characters] have fur, so it’s not like claymation. The settings will be very natural. We want to use real trees and real sand, but it’s all miniature."
