Editorials > More Proof That People Hate Good Movies: George Clooney's "Michael Clayton" Opens in Third Place, Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married?" Opens No. 1

Yeeeeeesh.

While I was busy being riveted by George Clooney's performance in the amazing flick "Michael Clayton," the rest of the movie going public was off seeing Tyler Perry's urban dramedy "Why Did I Get Married?" "Married" raked in $21.5 million whereas Clayton pulled in $11 million and tied for third place with the mediocre "We Own the Night."

America…you broke my heart with "Grindhouse," but I understood. But now, you're just being plain mean. "Michael Clayton" is one of the best movies I've seen in a few years and is a definite Oscar contender. But you don't care about that. You want to see movies by the same guy who gave you "Diary of a Mad Black Woman." Good choice, America. Good choice.
