In the wake of his Heroes co-star Zachary Quinto getting his dream job as Mr. Spock, Milo Ventimiglia has told MTV his own dream role: Dick Grayson AKA Robin. 

Ventimiglia feels that the character has not been done service in the past Batman movies, and that Christopher Nolan would be the director to fix that if anyone is. Ideally he sees himself playing Nightwing, the alias Grayson takes after leaving Wayne Manor to fight crime on his own and as the leader of the Teen Titans. 

I think he's got the right look to play Nightwing, and at age 30, that certainly make more sense than him playing Robin. Another complication of his age is the fact that he's only three years younger than Christian Bale. If people didn't think Batman and Robin were gay before they certainly would looking at Ventimiglia playing Bale's "ward." But who knows what Nolan might do with the role, if indeed he does anything at all.
