Michael Cera is in talks to play the title character in Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim's Little Life. The film is based on a graphic novel that "tells the story of a young slacker who meets the woman of his dreams but finds that he can only win her heart by battling and defeating her seven evil ex-boyfriends" (The Hollywood Reporter). Bryan Lee O'Malley wrote the comic, while actor Michael Bacall and Wright wrote the screenplay. Nina Park, who's worked with Wright since his days directing cult Brit-com Spaced, is producing.
Cera's upcoming projects include the Judd Apatow-produced Year One and Youth in Revolt directed by Miguel Arteta. It goes without saying that Cera had a phenomenal 2007 between Juno and Superbad, and it sounds like his next year or so will keep up the pace and pattern of quality.
