With the strike over, Ron Howard has been getting his next Dan Brown adaptation, "Angels and Demons," primed and ready to go. Tom Hanks will reprise his role as Dr. Robert Langdon. The film is expected to be a sequel to "The Da Vinci Code," despite the fact that the stories in the original books took place in the reverse order.
Israeli actress Ayelet Zurer has reportedly locked down the female lead role, Vittoria Vetra, an Italian scientist who joins forces with Langdon. Ewan McGregor is also eying a role for himself, namely that of "a powerful Vatican insider who assists Langdon." Akiva Goldsman wrote the screenplay, based on Brown's original novel. The film will feature Langdon, a religious art scholar who finds himself facing off against the Illuminati and the Catholic Church itself.
