News > Justin Marks rewriting Disney's '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea'

Justin Marks is on board to rewrite an origin story of Nemo for Disney's redo of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo. The story will follow Nemo as he creates his warship, the Nautilus. Characters for the film come from the Jules Verne novel and from Disney's first live action film, the original '20,000 Leagues' from 1954. Bill Marsilii wrote the first draft for '20,000 Leagues.'

According to Variety the studio is fast-tracking the project. McG will direct the film, making it his next project in line after Terminator: Salvation.

Marks has worked on other pop culture scripts including: "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe," "Voltron: Defender of the Universe," "Street Fighter" and a Green Arrow actioner.
