Julie Benz, co-star of Showtime's Dexter, will play the lead in Saw V, directed by David Hackl. Hackl makes his directorial debut with the horror film, though he was the production designer on the past three sequels. Variety doesn't offer any plot details, but then again, maybe the structure of these films is pretty well known by this point. Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (both of Saw IV) wrote the screenplay.

Production began on March 17th and the release date is set for October 24th of this year.
