Julia Roberts will produce and star in an adaptation of Margot Berwin's novel, Hothouse Flowers. According to The Hollywood Reporter,
Roberts will play a recently divorced woman who is dissatisfied with her job at a Manhattan ad agency and goes off on an adventure that takes her to places she never expected to go.
A pretty vague logline, to be sure. It sounds like it could be called Erin Brockovich 2: Erin Accidentally Takes the Wrong Bridge and Ends Up in Jersey. There's no script or writer for this project yet, as the 3-month WGA strike has prevented any unionized hands from getting close to the film. Berwin is a regular writer for Nerve.com.
