Paramount has bought the life rights to Kathi Lynn Austin, an intelligence operative who has worked all around the world. Ms. Austin's years of experience with arms trafficking and terrorism will become the basis for an action thriller starring Angelina Jolie. According to Variety, "the drama will focus on a fictional arms dealer inspired by Victor Bout, the shadowy Russian who is considered one of the world's most prolific dealers in illegal munitions."

Jolie's manager, Geyer Kosinski, will produce the film. Kosinski is hoping to turn Jolie's character into a franchise, a la The Bourne Supremacy. Kosinski and the studio have assembled a short list of writers to approach for the screenplay, but cannot hire anyone until the strike is over.
