News > Jamie Bell joins Craig, Schreiber in Defiance

Written by David Morgan

Jamie Bell has been cast in Edward Zwick's new World War II drama Defiance, opposite Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber. Variety says that the three will play "Jewish brothers who escape Nazi-occupied Poland and head into the forest to join Russian resistance fighters and try to save the lives of other Jews." Sounds almost like a combination of Schreiber's Everything is Illuminated with Craig's Munich. Perhaps there's some sort of dance competition as well for Bell.

Zwick is writing, producing, and directing the film which is based on a true story. Is anyone going to believe that these three guys are brothers? Maybe Bell and Craig, despite the eighteen year age difference.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Alexa Davalos and Tomas Arana have also joined the cast. Davalos as Craig's love interest and Arana will play a leader of the Russian resistance fighters.

Daniel "laughin-his-ass-off-while-gettin-whupped-by-the-balls" Craig goes Medieval on Nazi asses?
I'm down with it !!!

(Sometimes you have to wonder if Craig's Aryan like feature would make him an effective Nazi officer)
