The daily Watchmen casting rumor is out and about and it's a doozy. Jackie Earle Haley, the pederass in Little Children will make the dreams of pimple-faced fanboys everywhere come true, as he's supposedly been cast as homocidal vigilante Rorschach.  It's a big deal, he's a great choice (both physicality-wise and talent-wise) and one fans have been begging for.  Unfortunately, this rumor has to have the most convoluted story of all times.

So, bear with me here, Irish actor Paddy Considine was attached to play masked-vigilantes Rorschach when Paul Greengrass was still running with his version of the film.  Greengrass got the axe though, 300-director Zach Snyder got the nod, and Considine's attachment to the film got all grey and fuzzy.  Considine, on his pretty creepy fansite (are there non-creepy fan websites?), has recently filled in some of the blanks though by announcing that he's certainly not in the film, because … Jackie Earle Haley has been cast.  So take that for what it is.  He's certainly been close to the production, but still…why the hell would he know this?  It's also almost too geek wet-dream to be true. 

Warner Brothers needs to start confirming or denying some of these casting rumors, because right now it's all heresay and speculation, and I keep getting my hopes up and then having them dashed on the rocky shores of reality.  So far everything coming out of the Zack Snyder camp seems to paint a nice picture for who's in talks, but goddammit I want some f'n confirmation.
