The MTV Movies Blog reports that Paul Soter, speaking for the rest of the Broken Lizard team, has decided to begin production on a Super Troopers sequel. But why now?

"There was a period of time where it seemed to us that the only way people recognized us at all was as Super Troopers," says Soter. "So we thought, let’s get a few other films under our belt just to let people know that it’s not the only thing that we do." 

Despite the fact that Club Dread kind of blew and Beerfest was hilarious but only made about twelve dollars in box office grosses, it appears that the Broken Lizard team is now confident they can return to the franchise that gave them their big break without seeming like one-trick ponies.

At this point, no one (including the Lizards themselves, possibly) has any idea as to what the story will be, but, hey, it's Super Troopers: expect tits, guns, and weed.
