News > Indiana Jones 5: More Indy, Less Shia

Source: MTV

George Lucas stated back in May, before the opening of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, that he'd already thought of an idea for a fifth installment, centering primarily on Dr. Henry Jones' son, Mutt Williams, played by the youthful Shia LaBeouf. Now, it seems, Lucas has come to his senses, realizing that Indy is Indy. Period. Without him, there can be no movie.

“Indiana Jones is Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones,” Lucas said, “If it was Mutt Williams it would be ‘Mutt Williams and the Search for Elvis’ or something.” (that statement alone makes me laugh out loud)

But, can Lucas give us another reason to see Indiana Jones back in action?

“We ARE looking for something for [Indy] to go after,” Lucas said. “They are very hard to find. It’s like archeology. It takes a huge amount of research to come up with something that will fit.”
