IFC Films has acquired U.S.distribution rights to Norweigan horror comedy Dead Snow. According to LatinoReview the film is the follow up to Kill Buljo: The Movie and it was written and directed by Tommy Wirkola.
Dead Snow tells the story of a group of co-ed medical students who go on holiday to Oksfjord, a picturesque snowy oasis that promises plenty of skiing and relaxing away from civilization. Unfortunately, these vacationers aren't aware that the area is plagued by a legion of evil Nazis who were chased into the nearby mountains at the end of World War II, now returning to get their revenge as ruthless, hungry zombies. A tongue-in-cheek Nazi-zombie-splatter-comedy, the young ensemble cast of Dead Snow includes Vegar Hoel, Stig Frode Henriksen and Charlotte Froegner.
Said Jonathan Sehring, President of IFC Entertainment, "We are thrilled to work with Tommy and our friends at Elle Driver on this unique film. Tommy is a talented new filmmaker in world cinema and we look forward to helping introduce him to U.S. audiences."
IFC Films plans to release Dead Snow in 2009.
