"Sexiest Man Alive," and Broadway veteran Hugh Jackman will take on the role of magician Harry Houdini. According to Fox News, on the red carpet last night for Jackman's epic Australia, the big buzz was the news of "Wolverine" playing Houdini on Broadway.
Jackman is no stranger to the role of master magician as his role in The Prestige was based on exactly that. Since it is Hollywood and there always special effects involved they are calling in big hitters like Ricky Jay and might also reach out to street magician David Blaine and the Cirque du Soleil camp.
All I am going to say is they better get Criss Angel involved, seriously he is one of Houdini's biggest fans and all the pretty boy aside the man is amazing.
Danny Elfman, once the leader of pop group Oingo Boingo and now often a composer of movie scores, is writing the music. Kurt Andersen, a former magazine editor and current radio host here in New York, is said to be working on the script although no one’s seen anything yet.
