BBC sez: Bill Murray was just offering rides. In his golf cart. Through Stockholm. That's all. Sheesh, c'mon Sweden, lighten up a little!
The Lost In Translation star said he volunteered to drive people home after a golf tournament party in Sweden.
"I ended up stopping and dropping people off on the way like a bus. I had about six people in it," he said.
Murray had to give blood after refusing to be breath-tested by Swedish police, and could face drink driving charges.
…
The star, who was speaking at the Venice Film Festival, said he was stopped by police after dropping off the last party guests at a convenience store.
"I didn't know they had 7-Elevens in Stockholm," he said.
Murray, a keen golfer, was at the Scandinavian Masters tournament in the Swedish capital.
The tournament's organiser Fredrik Nilsmark said the golf buggy was not intended for guests but added: "I don't hold any grudges against Bill Murray borrowing our cart for a while."
The film actor added that he had taken a ride to the post-tournament party on the golf cart, but no-one had wanted to drive it back afterwards.
