Marc Guggenheim's "Eli Stone" may be "on the bubble," but Universal has just optioned his comic book series "Resurrection," which he wrote and created with illustrator Dave Dumeer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story of "'Resurrection' begins where most other alien invasion movies end, centering on a group of survivors trying to take back control of the planet after an apocalyptic invasion."
The comic's first issue was published in October, and the third issue was just recently released. Scott Stuber ("Traveling," "The Wolf Man") and Eric Gitter will be producing with Guggenheim serving as an executive producer. It sounds like this could be a really fresh turn on the old-fashioned "disaster movie" if handled properly. I look forward to hearing more about this and, by extension, I hope you do too.
