Variety, which evidently thinks that "comic book" is one word, reports that comic writer Grant Morrison has been hired to write the script for the upcoming adaptation of the video game Area 51.

Morrison, who has written for pretty much every comic superhero under the sun (including the best Joker comic/worst Batman comic ever, Arkham Asylum), is expected to un-shitify the previous drafts concerning the story of a HAZMAT team fighting aliens. 

All in all, this is surprising – Morrison is way too good to be mucking about with video game movies, but his involvement has definitely legitimized what would have otherwise been nothing more than a throwaway sci-fi flick.
