According to The Hollywood Reporter, David "Batman Begins" Goyer will be "developing" (aka, directing-but-not-yet-allowed-to-say-so) a Magneto film.

The film will interestingly be written not by Goyer himself, but by some dude named Sheldon Turner – because if anyone can write a movie about the young life of a murderous-yet-sympathetic freak, it's somebody named "Sheldon."

Magneto will follow the early lives of Magneto and Professor Xavier, tracking their childhood friendship right up until the moment they become enemies. The duo will not be played by Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, but rather a couple of new actors in their 20's.

Avi Arad, as always, is producing – so don't be surprised if he tells you Magneto is going to be bright yellow a few weeks before denying the entire thing.
