Here is a link to a live action GI Joe trailer.

This looks incredible- why have you guys not reported on this? This is major news.

note: Despite what original poster "Hector" may write, this trailer is in no way related to the upcoming adaptation of G.I. Joe film being made by Paramount. It is a fan-trailer made by a group of very passionate actors and filmmakers who have good intentions–but NOTHING to do with the film currently in production. It is a short entitled War Machine made by iDiC Entertainment. And yes, it seems like a very intentional nod to DIC Entertainment who produced the original animated series. They have no affiliation. Apologizes to anyone who–after watching the trailer–could possibly think otherwise. Also, The Baroness is totally groping a random girl in the trailer. WTF. Already like 300x better than Sienna Miller.

It's very difficult to pick up sarcasm from written word, what with the lack of inflection and all. But please tell me that you meant to convey some of it here, because oh my god... this is some serious Uwe Boll shit if its true. I would be surprised if the video you posted actually got funded to go direct-to-video.

you must have a very low bar for incredible because this looks like some random guy with an (probably used) expensive video camera and a lot of friends dressed up and ran around in the woods with fake guns for an hour. seriously, if you thought this was "major news," what did you think of the new "Rambo" trailer? splendiferous? "omFg Drowning Pool??? this movie is gonna kick so much l33t ass!!"

...who let this go to the front page?

I think the real issue here is how in the hell did Hector even think for one second that this was a legitimate trailer for the GI joe movie?

I could have sworn that a gi joe movie would be total cheese ball but this actually looks Cool. I'm sure this is a direct to DVD movie but who cares? This seems a hole lot better than the hollywood version. Just look at their Baroness compared to Sienna miller. This might be low budget but it seems way more hip then the sure to be cheesy Hasbro/paramount version. Duke looks like Duke, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are doing some major kung fu and the Baroness is super hot. Hate all you guys want but this is cool and you know you wanna see it. Cobra!

Okay so I looked this up. WAR MACHINE is a 90 minute movie slated for DVD release 2008 and it's an estimated NC-17 (damn!).
It is in no way the crap version that Stephen Sommers is gonna crap out from hasbro in 2009.

Why are you guys so against this? I admit, it looks way low budget but at least it's fresh. At least it's a hard rockin version of our American Hero's. You can't be cool on the net because you hate everything. And this can't be a group of fans running around filming this. Look at the people involved. These ain't no nerds. You guys can all be mad but I'm going to see this for sure. They should hire these guys to make the official gi joe. My only gripe is that I don't see Destro.

You know what annoys me most about the trailer for War Machine? That incredibly shitty song.

smjenkins on 11/26/2007 1:41pm
I actually love the song but the trailer is not the best. The images are fine and I'll defiantly see this or get it on dvd but the trailer needs to have some talking in it.

An indie film about gi Joe's and some of you are acting like this isn't interesting. Please. I'm mad about hollywood deciding to make the Joe's not americans anymore.

Either way, I'd rather see this movie. I would rather support the indie scene than the garbage that hollywood produces. But make a new trailer!

I really hate to play devil's advocate here, but they won't be able to release jack unless they have Hasbro's say-so or consent to use the character likeness. It's one thing to release a short film for free, but the minute you attempt to profit from a feature using someone else's characters, they're going to want to know why you're not paying royalties.

Then again, I would love to know if iDiC does have the rights to do this.

iDiC kids, you're here right? Mind explaining how you plan to market this?
